The Final Page

We have turned the pages through the years
Some were filled with sunlight, some with tears
There were meetings, goodbyes, troubled days
But one dream kept leading us always
We’ll read this story to the end
Then I’ll close the cover in my hands
Love will be the chapter that remains
The only one we wrote upon these pages
We’ll read this life together, you and I
Though we know we can’t turn back the time
All I ever wanted was to be
With the sweetest page life gave to me
Page by page, heart to heart
We were written from the start
Till the final light is gone
You’re the page I’m living on
We’ll read this story to the end
Then I’ll close the cover in my hands
Love was always written as our truth
And every word of it belonged to you
We have read this life together, you and I
Even though we couldn’t turn back time
All that ever mattered was to be
With the sweetest page life gave to me
