Mountain Road

Hey
Hey, hey
Higher than the last tree light.
The houses disappear below
Your voice becomes a little smaller
The further up we go heat.
Heat
No signal on the mountain road
No names left on the street
Only the sound of tires turning
In places we have never been
The air gets thinner
I breathe you in
The air gets thinner
Under my skin
Don't say where we're going.
Don't turn around
There's something up here we haven't found hey
Hey, hey
First light catches on the ridge line
Everything below turns blue
For a moment there is nowhere
I would rather be than here with you
The air gets thinner
The higher we go
Leave what we know
And nobody knows
The air gets thinner
And everything clears
Nothing above us
Nothing to fear heat.
Heat
